What goes on the roof

Three systems

Standing seam metal, asphalt shingles, and EPDM black rubber for the flat ones.

The roofs

Three ways to cover a building, and two reasons to call.

A roof reaches the end of its life, or a storm gets under it and you find out on a Tuesday. Both jobs are the same trade, and both start with somebody getting up there and looking.

What we specialize in

Standing seam metal

Panels that run the full length of the slope and lock together along a raised seam, so the fasteners sit under the metal instead of driven through it. On a Vermont roof that matters more than it does most places: there is nothing standing on the surface for ice to get under.

Asphalt shingles

The roof most houses already wear, and the one most of them get again. Tear off what is up there, look at what is under it, and lay a new roof on a deck somebody has actually seen.

Soft spots and old water damage turn up under worn shingles more often than anybody expects. They are a great deal cheaper to find with the roof open than to find later.

EPDM black rubber

The answer where a roof is flat or close to it: a single sheet of black rubber membrane instead of anything that relies on gravity to shed water.

Roof replacement

The whole covering off and a new one on. Replacements get scheduled ahead through the season, which is why the roof you want done in the autumn is a summer conversation.

Repairs

Water coming in around a vent, a chimney, a valley or a stretch of flashing. Not every leak needs a new roof, and finding out which kind you have is the first job.

Sheet metal

The other half of the name. A standing seam roof is sheet metal work: flat panel stock folded into pans and seams, with the fixings hidden under the metal rather than driven through the face of it.

Let us know

[Everything else you take on]

The three roof systems above come straight from your own Facebook description, so they are on the page as facts. Nothing else is, because nothing else is written down anywhere public that we could find.

These are the ones a roofing customer usually asks about. Tell us which are yours and they go on the page:

  • Gutters and downspouts
  • Chimney and wall flashing
  • Snow guards and snow rails
  • Ice dam work
  • Skylights
  • Soffit and fascia
  • Insurance and storm claims
  • Free estimates
  • Workmanship warranty
  • Licensed and insured
  • Years in business

Cross out the ones that are not yours and add anything missing. Nothing in this panel is a claim yet.

Standing seam

A roof with nothing driven through the face of it.

The first of the three systems we specialize in, and on a Vermont roof it earns the place.

  • The panels lock along a raised seam, so the fixings sit under the metal instead of punched through it.
  • Each panel runs the full length of the slope, so there is no joint across the run for water to find.
  • Snow slides off a seam roof rather than sitting on it and soaking through.

Tim's Expert advice at Til Dark was instrumental in the success of our complicated metal roof project. Thank You Til Dark!!

Chris and his team was such a pleasure!! Chris responded to my online request within a few hours, and he came the same day to give me an estimate. Scheduling a time for his team to come was simple, and quick. His team is friendly, respectful, and the quality of their work is outstanding!! I highly recommend them.

Chris was wonderful to work with and his team was incredibly efficient with good morale. I was amazed that they did the whole roof in one day! Chris also came back to clean up the attic and finish the new hatch. Highly recommended.

Great experience! Sent a txt and got a response and visit within 48 hours. Rain was coming into house via microwave. Turned out new caulking was needed around the vent - easy fix done day of at a great price!

[CONFIRM] the whole table

Your Google listing showed us one row and one row only: a seven o'clock close on the Thursday we read it. The rest of this table came off a listings aggregator, and aggregator hours drift.

One line from you and the mark comes off the whole page. If the truthful answer is that the day ends when the light does, tell us that instead and the table can say so.

Get in touch

(802) 839-7171

The telephone is the front door. Have the town, the building and what the roof is doing ready when you call.

Let us know

[The address you want printed]

There is no street address anywhere on this page, on purpose. Your Google listing gives one address and your Facebook page gives another, and a wrong address on a roofing site sends somebody to the wrong door.

Tell us which one is right and it goes on. Or leave it off: plenty of roofing companies run as a service area with a phone number and no shop address, and this page is already built that way.

Ask for an estimate

This is a request for an estimate, not a booking. Sending it holds no date and no time.

About this preview

We designed this custom website for your business. It was built from what is already public: your Google listing and your Facebook page. Every review is quoted exactly as it stands on your Google listing.

Right now, what customers find about Til’ Dark Roofing online is spread across other companies' pages. A website of your own gathers it in one place, under your name, saying exactly what you want said.

Everything on this page can be changed. Add, remove, or reword anything you like. We build the finished site around your answers for your review, free, with nothing paid unless you approve it and want it live. Once approved, we can have your site up and running very quickly.
